Professions

Professions

A profession is what your character currently does or is employed by The Agency as.  Professions in Government Sanctioned™ are based on and defined by combat team roles. These include professions like Sniper, Manhunter, Combat Medic, and CQB Specialist (formerly Anti-Terrorist) and fill roles such as Tank, Healer, and DPS.

A chosen profession helps define the part the agent will play in the game through profession-specific skill and feat mechanisms. Each profession specifies the skill bonus modifier that a character uses when determining how many skill points she will get when advancing a level. Further, professions provide their own specific set of feats that distinguish that profession from all others. These feats are not available to any other class of player. New feats or improvement of current feats are gained at specified levels as listed in the profession's level-dependent stats.

These level-dependent stats include custom AVD and all saving throw bonuses. On the other hand, non-combat professions are more likely to provide more skill points per level advancement than combat-oriented professions. There are multiple professions to satisfy any given team role, so even within roles there can be some variation. See the following pages for more detailed information on Classes as Roles and on the individual classes themselves.
